SBPT15 Week 4: "Dreaming the Writing Dream: 6 Authors Who Inspired Me to Write" - List by Mia (Mia in Narnia)

THE INTRO

Welcome to the Summer Blogger Promo Tour, hosted by The Book Bratz!

If you're not familiar with it, the SBPT is like a temporary meme, only much more fun and interesting. Basically, a grand total of 56 bloggers who signed up for it have been divided in groups of 8 bloggers each. Every group gets to swap posts through the whole summer - that is, every blogger in the group (plus the host) is featured on one of their companions' blogs every Sunday, always contributing with a different and original post. You can read all about the SBPT here and here.

My blog stop today is at Mia in Narnia, with a post titled Top 5 Series More People Must Read (where I hope you'll be introduced to some stuff you might like...).

And now, without further ado, let me introduce one of my blog tour pals!
Offbeat YA is proud to present Mia (Mia in Narnia) [...yes, by chance we are each other's guest today!], who wants to become a writer and is sharing her Most Inspiring Authors list with us.

THE BLOGGER

Name: Mia | Blog: Mia in Narnia | Twitter: @MiaInNarnia

Mia is a fifteen year old reader, aspiring writer and obsessive fangirl. In real life she resides in England, but would much rather live between the pages of a book or in her favorite fictional world - Narnia. When she's not reading she enjoys eating cheesecake, watching bad TV and looking at pictures of Meerkats. Her blog Mia in Narnia was created on Christmas day 2014 as a way for her to share her love for everything bookish.

THE POST

Dreaming the Writer Dream: 6 Authors Who Inspired Me to Write
List by Mia (Mia in Narnia)

Hi everyone,
I'm Mia from the blog Mia in Narnia and I'm really excited to be here today as part of the Summer Blogger Promo Tour!
I'm an aspiring author and avid writer, so today I'm going to be talking about five authors who inspired me to write! I've always loved writing, but I probably wouldn't be doing it as much as I am today without these authors...

1: C.S LEWIS
If you didn't guess from my blog name, I LOVE the Chronicles of Narnia series. It was the first book series that I remember reading and loving on my own, and I think it's a huge part of the reason why I read and write as much as I do today. C.S Lewis's writing is so magical and whimsical which is something that has stayed with me since I first read the books and undoubtedly influenced my own writing style.

2: CATHY CASSIDY
Cathy Cassidy was my favourite author when I was about eleven, and she had a massive influence on me in my pre-teen years. One of my clearest memories of writing inspiration is the day she came to my school and talked about being a writer. I think that might have been the day I decided this was what I wanted to do as a career!

3: JACQUELINE WILSON
Jacqueline Wilson was another one of my favourite authors when I was about 10-13, and she's another author who had a huge impact on that part of my life. I was particularly inspired by her autobiography, Jackie Daydream, which describes her journey to becoming a writer!

4: SUZANNE COLLINS
The Hunger Games is the book that got me into YA fiction, and without it I almost certainly wouldn't be reading or writing the same books I enjoy today. Suzanne Collins might not have inspired me to start writing - I was doing that already - but she definitely inspired me to write in the Young Adult genre.

5: MALORIE BLACKMAN

The Hunger Games may have been the book that got me into YA, but Blackman's Noughts and Crosses is the first Young Adult book that I ever read. It's stuck with me ever since, and I believe that book has had a huge impact on my writing over the years. I also love the way Malorie Blackman talks about books and writing in interviews, and she never fails to make me feel inspired.

6: SUSAN DENNARD
Okay...this one is kind of cheating. I've never actually read any of Susan Dennard's books (I want to!), but I am obsessed with her writing tips on her blog. Whenever I get stuck or I'm struggling with my writing, I always look to her blog for inspiration and advice.

Thank you so much for reading, thank you to these authors for inspiring me, and thank you so much to Roberta for featuring me on her awesome blog!

Welcome to Offbeat YA! I love hearing from you and always - I mean always - acknowledge your comments. This used to be a full democracy place, because anyone could comment, regardless of being a registered member of any community. Unfortunately, I had to turn off the Anonymous comment option, because I was getting too much spam that didn't get filtered. So, you’ll need to have a Google account (Gmail will suffice) in order to comment. Sorry about that. Anyway, jump right in! Come on, you know you want to...😉 And be sure to leave a link!
BTW...I don't care if a post is a million months old - you comment, I respond. And you make my day 😃.
Note: this is an award/tag free blog. Sorry I can't accept nominations due to lack of time.
